Connect Google+ to Twitter and Facebook

With the recent launch of Google+ (Google Plus) many dlvr.it users want to connect Google+ to Twitter and Facebook. And while Google has yet to launch an official Google+ API, a growing number of our users are using dlvr.it to automatically send their Google+ posts to Twitter and Facebook. Here’s an unofficial way to connect Google+ to your Twitter and Facebook accounts.

1. Get the feed of your Google+ posts

Simply add a Google+ user number to the end of this URL (http://dlvritplus.appspot.com) to get an Atom feed of public Google+ posts.

Example: The atom feed of Robert Scoble’s public Google+ posts is: http://dlvritplus.appspot.com/111091089527727420853

You’ll use your http://dlvritplus.appspot.com URL to distribute your Google+ posts to Twitter and Facebook using http://dlvr.it.

2. Publish your Google+ posts to Twitter and Facebook using dlvr.it

a. Create a dlvr.it account

b. Enter you dlvritPlus feed URL from step 1 as your Feed URL

c. Follow the easy steps to authorize dlvr.it to post to your Twitter account

d. Follow the steps to authorize dlvr.it to post to your Facebook page

Detailed Tutorial

Here’s a detailed step-by-step tutorial with screenshots of each step in the process.

About Charles Smith

I am one of the founders of dlvr.it and love working at the intersection of business, technology and design. I am an avid Oregon Duck football fan and, along with my two young sons, have built the third largest (unofficial) private Lego collection in the state of Oregon. I also enjoy discovering and mixing vintage cocktails.

Currently our business uses dlvr.it like this:
Update our own news feed, dlvr.it syndicates this to facebook and twitter.
Can this procedure work in the same direction to google+?

Need this the other way, from a blog to g+ *limited* posts.

Sorry guys.  You’re at the mercy of Google on this request.  At the moment they haven’t released an API for developers to use to post to G+.  Apparently they’ve been busy doing more important things like adding games!?!?!?

The benefits of content syndication are apparent using your platform. Any plans to implement G+ to your network?

This is nice information you provide to connect google plus with facebook and twitter but it is not the right way. As facebook and twitter is only for social site though many people have used it for business also. But  google plus provide the platform for business separately so why there is need of connection. So instead of that we can make new start on google plus with new information which can be very informative and helpful to people.

I get 403 errors intermittently too – more frequently than not at the moment.  Does anyone have ideas why that might be???

This is some nice info – thanks for sharing that. I’ve been stuck between facebook and G+ but i’m tempted to make the switch entirely to google now.

I heard that Google just sent out an email to select companies asking if they want to participate in a API Beta. I am hoping that in the next few days that we will see on the dlvr.it blog that they have been asked, and that soon after that dlvr.it confirms that there is a G+ post create function in the API which will allow dlvr.it to add g+ post items to their delivery targets.

    Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

    Cheers!

As Google has announced the opening the Google+ API (see http://developers.google.com/+/), can we expect to see this added as a feature soon?
